Book making

After finishing my first draft of my book, I made a mock-up to practice the hardback cover and bookbinding technique.

I just used some scrap paper, but I still want to see if I can make my own paper from home, and then I can do this again.

I think I bound the paper too tight so the pages don't sit quite right, but that can be easily fixed. I loosely followed this guide to bind the pages, but when stitching I sort of just made it up as I went, which I probably won't do again as I had to keep unstitching parts. I'm really pleased with how this looks, and I'm going to try it again when I make my own paper. I'm also going to experiment with the cover to make it more presentable, since this first book is purely functional.
